BETTY JEPPENSEN

SBWL & SBWLF DIRECTOR

Betty Jeppesen is the longest serving member of the board of directors for the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers and the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Foundation.

A Denmark native and trailblazer for women in law, Betty holds an esteemed place in the legal community of Central California. With her roots planted at The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law's nascent campus in the 1970s, Betty transformed her law degree into a pioneering tool, defying gender norms of the era. Beginning her journey in tiny classrooms, she carved a path to recognition, with her voice gaining weight in spheres once reserved for men.

Betty was one of the earliest members of the SBWL Board of Directors. She served as board President in 2015 and has remained on the board as a valued historian, providing insight and perspective on SBWL's continuing mission to attain and maintain gender parity and equality in Santa Barbara's legal community. Betty has held leadership roles across various legal boards. She is a deserving recipient of the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers' Attorney of the Year and many other accolades.
