Legal Issues Surrounding Elder Caregiving and Health Care
Lawyers may address elder care and health care issues as legal advisors and advocates as well
as experiencing these events in their own lives. Join us for a discussion of the legal issues and practical considerations that caregiving, aging and health care present today.
After 25+ years of practicing construction law, Linda Beck redirected her work into elder care and health care advocacy. Linda became a caregiver after a crisis that disrupted her law practice and her life. Since then, she has encountered many people who are (as she had been) unprepared for caregiving and have no idea of where to begin. She founded Square One Elder and Health Advocacy LLC to improve quality of life for elders and caregivers and to promote workplace productivity by educating people about caregiving, aging and health care.
Linda’s experience includes her service as an Ombudsman with the San Luis Obispo County Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman and as a member of the Leadership Council for the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care. She holds a certificate in Patient Advocacy from UCLA Extension, and earned her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law. Linda continues to work part-time as a construction lawyer with Best Best & Krieger.
