What do they do? DVS provides safety, shelter and support for individuals and families affected by domestic violence and raises awareness about its cause, prevalence and impact.

Why is their work important? Domestic violence has been called “a pandemic within a pandemic” because high stress, lockdowns and close-quarters living have led to increases in DV incidents during the COVID-19 crisis. 1 in 3 women will experience physical violence by an intimate partner during her lifetime.
