Tara Messing is on the Board for the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Foundation. Tara interned as a law clerk at a local nonprofit organization in the summer of 2014 and officially moved from Maryland to Santa Barbara in August of 2015. As a civil litigator, Tara’s practice areas include, business litigation, products liability, contract disputes, and personal injury law.
Tara graduated from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law with honors and a certificate in environmental law. She has a diverse legal background from clerking with the largest litigating section of the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, to interning in the Student Honors Law Clerk Program with the U.S. EPA Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, among others. Tara has a degree in Environmental Studies, Geography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from The George Washington University.
