Jennifer Karapetian is a Chief Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from CSU Fullerton and her law degree from Hofstra Law.

Since joining the Santa Barbara County DA’s Office in 2010, she has handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to violent felonies, including homicides and gang crimes. She has also worked in juvenile and collaborative courts and led community programs like teen court and mock trial.

Specializing in crimes against vulnerable victims since 2012, Jennifer helped establish the Santa Barbara County Human Trafficking Task Force in 2014. As Chief Deputy Jennifer oversees cases countywide in the Vulnerable Victims Unit, criminal filings, collaborative courts and restorative justice programs.
